Collars

The two collars (right and left) are the same on all Jiminy's.  The hole with the round indentation goes on the bottom and the mold "snap-off" goes in the back.  The collar is attached to two posts that come out of each side of Jiminy's face.  The bottom one is round and does most of the work of keeping the collar attached.  The upper post is trangular and helps keep the collar close to the head and oriented in the proper direction.  Even on those that are mint-in-cello, I have never seen a Jiminy where the triangular post on his left collar comes through and holds the collar the way it should.
The triangular upper post breaks off very easily and the collars tend to rip near the lower hole.  For these reasons, you shouldn't try removing the collars.  If you insist on doing so, I would suggest warming up the collars with a hair dryer before the attempt to make the piece more pliable.

left collar
Just because your Jiminy has two collars doesn't mean they are attached properly.  Sometimes they are on the wrong side.  Simetimes he has two left (or right) collars.

the collar on the right is really a left collar

the collar on the right belongs on Jiminy's right side
